CHAWTON PARISH COUNCIL

Parish Council Meeting

Tuesday 26thJune 2018 7.30 pm

 

Present: Jason Simper (Chair), Mandi Sowik (Clerk), Malcolm Williamson, Jenny Perring, Malcolm Williamson, Paul Schofield.

Apologies: Keith Murray & Philip Pascoe.

 

Minutes of the last parish meeting were previously signed as true and correct record by the Chair.

 

Planning Updates – Application for downstairs shower room for disabled child at 4 Lavant Fields.

Cllr Simper declared that the application for The Thatch has now been withdrawn.

 

Co-option of New Councillor – Donal O’Connell was proposed by Paul Scholfield and seconded by Malcolm Williamson.

 

Update on Village Car Park Lease – A lease has been received from Fullers for review and the Clerk & Chairman will meet with the EHDC Building Surveyor at the end of the week to decide on the dilapidations. The initial lease will run for a trial of one year if approved by the PC.

 

Update on Dead End Parking – Costings for a height barrier are being sought, Highways will be clearing the area within the next few weeks in readiness for some repairs and space painting.  Cllr Williamson will contact South Downs National Park to seek assistance with regard to funding for the car parking area.

 

Update on Email Communication – a large number of responses have been received and a communication list will be complied in due course.

 

Laptop repair/replace – The clerk will contact a computer repair company for a quote regarding the laptop.

 

Local Grants – Grant applications have been received from The Village Hall, The Pre School and the School Support Group which were approved subject to discussions the Chair and Clerk will have with the village hall.

 

Accounts – The accounts have been completed and forwarded for audit, the Council would like to thank Jackie Forward for her assistance with these.

 

AOB – The defibrillator will be fitted to the village hall on the 27th June 2018.
