Whilst we presently have no parking restrictions on the roads in the village, we would politely ask that you refrain from parking irresponsibly, for example in areas where the bus and emergency vehicles require access including the marked bus stop. Please also refrain from parking on the kerbs as this restricts foot traffic.
If entering the village from Wolfs Lane (Selbourne Road) there is a weekend only car park which is signposted with a temporary ‘P’ just as you enter the village, from here it is a short walk to Jane Austen’s House Museum. On Weekdays and weekends the car park in the centre of the village at the rear of the pub car park is available for free parking.
If you are entering the village from the A31 Island you will find extra parking by turning right onto Gosport Road and head towards the church and Chawton House Library.
Here you will find ample parking at the end of the Gosport Road, through the barrier, again marked by a ‘P’, please park to the right in a herringbone style to maximise spaces.
