Bin days set to change
Bin collection days across the district are set to change as East Hampshire District Council switches its environmental services contracts.
New bin collection calendars will be sent to every home from this week informing residents of their new bin day.
EHDC’s new environmental services contract starts on Monday 30 September.
Although residents’ collection days are likely to change, the things that can and can’t be collected will stay the same and refuse, recycling, glass and garden waste will continue to be collected from the kerbside.
Councillor Richard Millard, Leader of East Hampshire District Council said: “We are working hard to make the transition to the new contract as smooth as possible and ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum.
“The new rounds and collection days will take time for residents and the people collecting the bins to get used to.
“Residents can do their bit by checking their calendar and making sure they put the right bin out by 7am on the right day and helping elderly or vulnerable neighbours to do the same.”
Residents will be able to report missed bins 24/7 through their MyEHDC accounts and an automated phone line.
